So, here it is Thursday the 8th of September, and as I look around at all the wonderful things I have in life I notice that there is something missing. "What is it Joe?" you might ask. Well its my copy of X-Men First Class on Blu-ray... "Don't be silly Joe, its not missing, it just doesn't come out until tomorrow." MY POINT EXACTLY!!!!!! When the Heck did movies start coming out on a Friday... oh ya, thats right, NEVER!!!!! They always come out on Tuesday. Now before all you sunshine flinging hippies start with your, "well maybe it was supposed to come out on the 13th so this would be early, and thats a good thing." crap... Thor comes out on the 13th so this should have come out on the 6th.
Now I know what you're thinking, "Joe, its only a movie release, its not the end of the world." Well thank you captain obvious for that, I know its only a movie release, but when the movie industry has you trained like Pavlov's dog, come every Tuesday you start drooling looking for that new DVD. BUT NO! They gotta' throw a wrench into the works and release it 3 days late...between this and the Batman and Robin thing, I swear they do it on purpose...

I'm sorry... What!?

So the new 52 has begun. As everyone anticipates their favorite hero's comic line starting with that shiney new #1 printed on it, and visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads, I found myself just a wee bit ticked off I must say. How could they do this to us? We spent our whole lives dedicated to our favorites, waiting for that next issue to come out so we could see what happens next. And what do we get as a thank you? Forget the past 70+ years, none of that really happened, oh and by the way, we're starting all over again... Needless to say, for those of you who know me, I was not happy in the least bit about this. I was then told, on a couple of occasions, that its happenening, theres nothing I can do about it, just accept it... there again, that doesn't sit well with me, but I figured, I'll give them a chance.
So I went on my way to find out what I could about the new lines. Who was going to be doing what, and to who... you know, the inside scoop. And I must say, I started to feel a little better about the whole thing... Then I got to Batman and Robin... In the DC world, Batman is my guy, you just don't be messin' with him. When Batman and Robin first came out I thought, as I still do, it was an excellent idea, thats what should happen. Bruce would step aside Dick would take over and who better to be the new Robin then Bruce's kid... It's PERFECT!!! Just the way I would do it if I had the choice. But if you have been reading from the beginning, then you know I'm going somewhere whith this... YES, DC in their infinite wisdom sat down and said... hmmm, we have this really cool book... THAT JUST CAME OUT A LITTLE WHILE AGO!!!.... we should change it...... ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDIN' ME!!!!!..... YES, thats right boys and girls.... Bruce is back and him and his kid will be fighting crime together.... OH HOW TOUCHING!!!!!...... Is this a day time soap opera??????.... YES, for me Bruce is Batman, but this story line ISN'T ABOUT HIM!!!!!!... But they just took it, and as far as I'm concerned, flushed it down the toilet, while kicking me in the butt at the same time.
Love it or hate it, this is the new DC Universe kids, so we can either hold on for the ride, or sit around and wait for the next bus. As for me, I'll be getting on, but I'll be the kid thats kicking and screeming the entire time. Oh, and you might want to be careful, cuz at this pace, I just might get sick.
